MercyCare: Report “comes at a critical time”

“The Networks of Care report comes at a critical time as the care and healthcare sectors seek sustainable solutions to ongoing workforce shortages. It highlights the vital role that people-centred settlement approaches play in supporting migrants to contribute their skills, and establish a sense of belonging in their communities.
The report provides valuable insights, including through examples of best practice initiatives already driving change at a local level, alongside practical recommendations for government to strengthen outcomes into the future.
We were delighted to be part of the research and to see the findings, which closely align with our experience through MercyCare’s Connect to Caring program, which bridges settlement and employment by supporting people from refugee and migrant backgrounds into rewarding careers in care, while strengthening the workforce and communities they serve.
